Fixing Academia is published!

On April 2, Fixing Academia was published online (open access) and as a (beautiful!) limited edition paperback edition. Fixing Academia is written by 10 young scholars from the two universities in Amsterdam (VU and UvA) and addresses structural problems in academia that need to be fixed.

On publication day, an article on chapter 9, on academic publishers was published in De Groene Amsterdammer. It addressed the problematic relation between for-profit publishers and universities, and demonstrated how the system could be changed.

Also, the independent newspaper for UvA students and staff, Folia, wrote an article on the content of the book. It can be read for free here: https://www.folia.nl/en/wetenschap/173015/with-new-book-young-researchers-aim-to-break-through-the-cynical-mindset-in-academia.

More information about the book Fixing Academia, events, and information on ordering it, can be found on the dedicated website www.fixingacademia.com.
